Lindy Howell never went to these fairs alone, she always took her beloved friends, Ted and Fraidy Cat.  Fraidy Cat, being quite timid always hid under Lindy’s chair.  Ted however, loved people and welcomed one and all that stopped to look at the offerings at their table.  The quilts and jam were sold out early in the morning.  A perfect summer’s day, the three decided to picnic by the sea before traveling back to Locke Haven.  Naturally their picnic consisted of tuna and tomato sandwiches on raison bread and potato chips.

Imagine Miss Fayray’s surprise to find the same offering in her picnic basket.  Miss Fayray did not eat tuna.  Miss Fayray actually ate very little.  In fact she lived on only ice cream.  There were many things that Miss Fayray did not do.  She did not eat tuna, and she did not let the sun touch her very fair skin.
